Happy New Year loves! I’m sharing more of my holistic beauty, health and nutrition regimens with you guys in 2018. I figured I’d start with one of my go-to DIY aloe facial scrubs that was key in clearing up and preventing acne while fading my dark spots (hyperpigmentation). My skin has never been healthier and to think this scrub will cost you less than $20 is even better!
Key Ingredients
Aloe
This baby fights & prevents acne, infection, and reduces redness with its anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiseptic and anti-viral properties. It also increases skin’s elasticity and speeds up the healing process of dark spots, scars and burns (cell turnover rate) Pure aloe has no additives and is less than $2! Drink pure aloe to detox and heal your gut as well!
Manuka Honey or Raw Honey
Honey is naturally antibacterial, antiseptic and antiviral. It’s packed with antioxidants to protect your skin cells from free radicals (UV damage, smog, radiation, unhealthy foods, herbicides). This gem is acne’s worst enemy. The wound and burn healing properties make it the perfect solution for scars. It’s also extremely soothing, moisturizing and leaves skin with a natural glow! Manuka honey is much more potent and powerful than traditional honey. Researchers have found that darker shades of honey tend to have more antioxidant power. Whichever route you choose, unrefined & organic is best. Keep in mind, manuka honey is pricier & higher quality than traditional raw honey due to its potency. I’ve used the more affordable Trader Joe’s Raw Organic Honey for years with no problem! Both work great so it’s really your choice. 🙂
Dark Brown Sugar
Dark brown sugar is a natural exfoliant & best for sensitive skin because it is much softer than regular sugars. You don’t have to worry about irritating your skin yet it’s still strong enough to scrub away dead skin cells and make way for healthy glowing skin.
